Guidance Raises Outnumber Cuts, but the Market Is Only Paying for Beats
Trimble, Kontoor, Valens and Allot all lifted full-year outlooks, while Brinker slipped on a miss despite an upbeat forecast.
The raise list is broad and not confined to tech
Trimble beat expectations with record annualized recurring revenue and record second-quarter gross margins, raised full-year revenue and earnings guidance, and approved a new share repurchase. Kontoor Brands raised its 2026 earnings outlook on strong results and expanded CFO Joe Alkire's role to include president. Valens Semiconductor delivered $18.1 million of Q2 revenue, above the top end of guidance, at 61.5% GAAP gross margin, and lifted the full year to $78–81 million; Allot raised 2026 revenue guidance to $115–118 million. TKMS upgraded guidance on defense wins with rising margins. Different end markets — software, apparel, semis, networking, defense — pointing the same way on demand visibility.
An upbeat outlook does not buy forgiveness for a miss
Brinker International fell 2% on an earnings miss despite issuing an upbeat outlook alongside fourth-quarter and full-year fiscal 2026 results and fiscal 2027 guidance. Sitowise shares slipped on mixed results. The read: with guidance raises this common, forward-looking optimism has become the baseline expectation rather than a differentiator, and reported numbers are carrying the price reaction.
European margin pressure is the counterweight
Ignitis reported first-half profit down 21% as renewables faced headwinds, even with EBITDA rising — a divergence that points to costs and non-operating items rather than demand. Medios crossed €1 billion in half-year revenue but did so amid margin pressure. Top-line growth is available; converting it is where the European names are struggling.
Steady compounders keep delivering
Ituran posted record revenue of $104.8 million, up 21%, with subscription revenue up 25% and EBITDA up 24% to a record $28.5 million — a recurring-revenue mix doing exactly what it is supposed to. Bio-Techne's fiscal Q4 was more muted, with organic revenue up 3% to $321.2 million but reported growth of just 1%, and it declared an $0.08 quarterly dividend. Protalix lifted goods revenue to $19.8 million, up $4.4 million year over year on Elfabrio sales, with total revenue of $53.6 million.
